Proclime has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to drive carbon projects and create employment opportunities within the state. This strategic partnership, formalized during the Global Investors Meet, signifies a significant investment of Rs. 450 Crore by Proclime over the next five years.
This collaboration positions Proclime as the first unified climate service provider to invest in Tamil Nadu for Carbon Projects. These projects will generate valuable carbon credits, contributing to climate change mitigation and fostering a thriving climate economy within the state.
"Proclime is committed to creating high-integrity carbon projects across Tamil Nadu, including Nature-Based Solutions, Agroforestry, Carbon Capture, Energy Efficiency, and Emission Removal initiatives," said Kavin Kumar Kandasamy, Chief Executive Officer of Proclime. "These projects will address the growing global demand for high-quality carbon credits, while also supporting India's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)."
The Tamil Nadu government has expressed strong support for Proclime's endeavors, pledging to provide essential support and establish a single-window approval mechanism to facilitate the smooth and efficient implementation of these projects. This partnership will not only contribute to climate action but also drive sustainable development and create green jobs within the state.
This initiative underscores Tamil Nadu's commitment to environmental sustainability and positions the state as a leader in the Indian and global carbon markets.
